Sign-in problems
The four things that actually stop people getting in, and what to do about each.
Who this is for: Anyone locked out of their account.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Invalid email or password. | The credentials did not match. Byteflare deliberately does not say which of the two was wrong. | Use Forgot password. If you originally signed up with Google, there may be no password on the account — use Continue with Google instead. |
Please confirm your email. Check your inbox. | The account exists but the confirmation link has not been opened. | Open the confirmation email, checking spam and quarantine. Confirm before trying to sign in again. |
Too many attempts. Please wait a moment and try again. | Sign-in, signup and password-reset attempts are rate limited per address and network. | Wait a minute, then make one attempt. Repeating immediately extends the block. |
We already sent you an email... | A confirmation or reset email was recently issued and another has been suppressed. | Find the existing email. Only the most recent link works. |
An account with this email already exists. | You tried to sign up with an address that is already registered. | Sign in instead, or reset the password. |
Signed in as the wrong account
This bites most often on invitations: an invite is bound to one email address and is refused if you are signed in as anyone else. Sign out, sign back in as the invited address, and reopen the link. See Invitations.
